The Sinclair Industry
Almost
from the outset, the Sinclair
computers were supported by an enthusiastic and
rapidly expanding support industry. Those involved in the
Sinclair industry ranged from individuals working from their
garage to big multi-national companies, producing a bewilderingly
wide variety of software, hardware, books, magazines and many
other support services. Although eventually the market for Sinclair products largely died
out in the early 1990s, the programming expertise gained during the Sinclair years has helped to make Britain a global force in the software industry.
